I have been self-employed for 20 plus years. I have 3 great kids.  In the past when it came to health insurance all I cared about was the cost of the monthly premium because my kids had always been happy and healthy.  That all changed during the "snow apocalypse of 2021".

My youngest son was diagnosed with a chronic illness in the middle of it and subsequently spent 5 days at Dell Children's Hospital.  While sitting in his 5th floor room I began to think about my coverage. The thinking turned to worry. I had so many questions but so few answers. I didn't know where to turn. I reached out to my insurance agent.  He was no help at all!!

When my son was discharged from the hospital, I felt there had to be a better way to treat people in their time of need. They need to know someone has their back when they are dealing with an unexpected health crisis. That's why I got my Health Insurance license.   

Why did I get my Life Insurance License?

I was on vacation with my family. I had given my entire team the week off.  On the Saturday morning, I called one of my team members. I asked how he was feeling since he had been having some issues with his knee. He was 62 years old. He said he was feeling great and was looking forward to getting back to work. Five hours later he had a massive stroke and passed away.  He was the first person I had ever hired for my company.

The sad thing is, he had no life insurance of any kind, not even term life insurance. They had to ask for donations for his funeral.  They had to move out of their house and in with other family members because they couldn't pay the mortgage.  No family should go through that. I asked myself...Is that the kind of legacy I want to leave for my kids? NO!! Ask yourself...is that the kind of legacy I want to leave for my family? Personally, I don't want other families to go through that heartache.  I want to give them PEACE OF MIND.
